# How to apply

### Join Open Collective Europe in just a few steps

Applying to be hosted by Open Collective Europe (OCE) is straightforward and typically takes only a few minutes. Once accepted, you can begin receiving contributions and managing your initiative transparently through the Open Collective platform.

***

### Before You Apply

Ensure that your initiative meets the following criteria:

* **Alignment with OCE's mission and impact areas**: Your activities should be charitable and aimed at benefiting the public.
* **Minimum of two administrators**: Your collective must have at least two admins with real names.
* **No separate legal entity**: Your initiative should not have its own legal existence/entity separate from OCE.
* **Global scope**: Your initiative can be based anywhere in the world, not just in Europe.

Additionally, familiarize yourself with our [Terms of Cooperation](https://docs.opencollective.com/oceurope/getting-started/terms-and-conditions) and [Community Guidelines](https://docs.opencollective.com/help/about/community-guidelines).

If you're moving from another fiscal host:

* **Using Open Collective Platform**: The transition is relatively simple.
* **Not Using Open Collective Platform**: The process will depend on your current organization's requirements. Generally, they can transfer your funds to OCE, and you can get up and running quickly.

*Important*: Communicate your plans to both OCE and your current fiscal host before applying to ensure a smooth transition.
