# Apply to join OCE

Tell us about your group and the work you want to do.

You can apply from anywhere in the world. Start by checking whether OCE is right for your group.

## 1. Prepare a short introduction

Tell us what your collective does, who takes part and how the activities benefit others. Have a contact email and any useful links ready. The preparation guide lists the information you may need.

You do not need polished language. Clear, simple answers help us understand your situation.

## 2. Send your application

Use the [OCE application page](https://www.oceurope.org/apply). If you already have an Open Collective page, include its link. If you are unsure about a question or cannot provide something, contact us.

## 3. Follow the review

You will receive a first response from our team within seven business days of submitting your application. This does not mean a final acceptance decision within that time. We may ask for more information or a conversation; subsequent steps and timing depend on your situation. Check the email address you provided, including its spam folder. Submission does not itself confirm acceptance.

We normally require two active administrators, with an assessed exception possible for a project run by one person. Read the [administrator requirements](/oceurope/getting-started/eligibility.md#how-many-administrators-do-we-need) before applying; the team will confirm any exception and the setup for your situation. Once accepted, follow your first steps.

## Plan how you will use your funds

Before applying, read [how payment requests work](/oceurope/guides/expenses.md#when-will-oce-execute-the-payment). OCE executes submitted expenses within seven business days after approval by a collective administrator. Problems preventing payment can extend that timeframe, and bank or provider arrival times are additional.

## Moving from another host

Tell both OCE and your current host before moving funds or changing the setup. We need to agree the transition and any outstanding responsibilities.

## OCE or Open Source Europe?

These are distinct hosts. An existing Open Collective profile may belong to a different host. If you are unsure which one is right for you, tell us what your group does and we can help you find the appropriate route.
