Applying to be hosted by Open Collective Europe (OCE) is straightforward and typically takes only a few minutes. Once accepted, you can begin receiving contributions and managing your initiative transparently through the Open Collective platform.
Ensure that your initiative meets the following criteria:
Alignment with OCE's mission and impact areas: Your activities should be charitable and aimed at benefiting the public.
Minimum of two administrators: Your collective must have at least two admins with real names.
No separate legal entity: Your initiative should not have its own legal existence/entity separate from OCE.
Global scope: Your initiative can be based anywhere in the world, not just in Europe.

Start the Application: Visit the and click on "Apply".
Choose Your Collective Type:
New Collective: If you're new to the Open Collective platform, select "Create New Collective".
Existing Collective: If you already have a collective, choose it from the list.
Complete the Application Form: Provide information about your initiative, including:
Location
Name and email address
Collective name
Website and/or social media links
Brief description of your collective's activities
Explanation of how your collective furthers OCE's mission impact areas
Add Administrators: Ensure that at least two community members are added as admins.
Submit the Application: Review your information, accept the terms of service, and submit your application.
Note: All information entered can be edited later, so don't worry about making it perfect.
Review Process: We aim to respond to applications within seven business days.
Additional Information: If we have questions about your application, we may reach out to schedule a chat or request additional materials.
Acceptance: If your initiative is accepted, you'll receive an email notification. Be sure to check your spam folder, as our emails sometimes end up there.
Start Operating: Once accepted, you can set up your initiative's Open Collective page and begin accepting contributions.
If you're moving from another fiscal host:
Using Open Collective Platform: The transition is relatively simple.
Not Using Open Collective Platform: The process will depend on your current organization's requirements. Generally, they can transfer your funds to OCE, and you can get up and running quickly.
Important: Communicate your plans to both OCE and your current fiscal host before applying to ensure a smooth transition.
