# Questions about contributions

Recurring donations, privacy and missing funds.

## How do I stop or change a recurring contribution?

Open your contributions in your Open Collective account and find the recurring payment. Use the available management options or ask [platform support](https://opencollective.com/help) if you cannot access it. Stopping future payments is separate from [requesting a refund](/oceurope/how-it-works/refunds.md).

## Can I keep my name out of the public contributor list?

Check the profile and privacy options before confirming the contribution. A display name is not the same as the private legal information needed to process funds. Ask OCE if you are unsure what will be visible.

## The donor sent funds, but they are missing

For a bank transfer, check the order number and collective reference. Then contact OCE privately with the contribution or transfer details. See [bank transfers](/oceurope/how-it-works/wire-transfer-instructions-via-open-collective-platform.md).

## What can we promise a donor?

Donations and sponsorships are unconditional. They support the collective’s mission. Normal acknowledgement on the platform does not create an entitlement to a benefit in return.

## Can we fundraise somewhere else?

Check [external fundraising](/oceurope/how-it-works/fundraising-tools-and-resources.md) with OCE before starting, so the receiving route and allocation are clear.

## Are donations tax-deductible?

Do not assume they are. Read [giving from the United States](/oceurope/how-it-works/tax-deductible-giving-for-u.s.-donors.md) for the separate eligible route, and confirm the applicable conditions.
