# Connect GitHub Sponsors

Check the host and account setup for your project.

GitHub Sponsors and Open Collective are separate systems. Connecting them requires the correct project profile and fiscal-host arrangement.

## Before you start

Have your GitHub organisation link and your collective’s Open Collective link ready. Check which legal host administers your collective; OCE and Open Source Europe are distinct.

## Confirm the setup

Contact OCE before selecting a fiscal host in GitHub Sponsors or entering financial information on its behalf. The team can check the appropriate route for your project.

Use [GitHub’s current Sponsors documentation](https://docs.github.com/en/sponsors) for the application interface. An older screenshot or waitlist instruction may no longer match what you see.

## Keep the two profiles clear

A GitHub organisation is the account used for your project on GitHub. Your Open Collective page is where the collective’s hosted financial activity is recorded. Use the correct project link when connecting them.

If a payout is missing, send OCE both profile links and the relevant payout reference privately.
