# Your hosting agreement

Know the formal responsibilities before you start.

The hosting agreement sets out the relationship between OCE and your collective. This page helps you find and read it; it does not replace or change a signed agreement.

## When is a mandate agreement required?

A mandate agreement is required if your collective receives grants through OCE. If you receive only crowdfunding donations without particular conditions, a mandate is optional. Other funding arrangements, including contributions with particular conditions, are reviewed case by case with OCE. The general hosting terms still apply when a mandate is optional.

## Points to understand

* Your collective’s purpose and eligibility.
* What the administrators and OCE are each responsible for.
* Who may sign an agreement or commit OCE.
* How contributions and payments are documented and approved.
* What is public and how supporting documents are protected.
* What happens if the hosting relationship ends.

If a point is unclear, ask OCE before agreeing to it or acting on OCE’s behalf.

## If the guide and your agreement differ

Ask OCE to clarify the applicable terms before collecting funds or making a commitment. This guide does not waive a notice requirement, prior approval or restriction in your applicable agreement. Any change to that agreement follows its amendment and notification requirements.
